Cascara is the dried skins of coffee cherries, the fruit of which coffee beans are the seeds, and can be brewed as a tea, either hot or cold. It comes out tasting exactly like that: black tea with hints of hibiscus. The sugars that are present in the fruit give the beverage a naturally sweet flavor, so it requires no additional sweeteners. Coffee cherries are also a superfruit and contain loads of immunity-boosting anti-oxidants, which are extracted from the cascara while it steeps. With only a quarter of the caffeine present in coffee, cascara is a great afternoon pick-me-up without keeping you awake at night.
